Harry Hammond built his first timber speed boat in 1945.He then went on to produce what is often referred to as the Rolls Royce of Australian ski boats from his Brookvale NSW base.In 2006 Harry's son Mark found and lovingly restored one of his fathers personal boats MISS AUSTRALIA which must be one of the most beautiful ski boats in the country. For more information on Hammond boats and MISS AUSTRALIA take a peek at their website.

ReplyDeleteBought my first one from a mate Rego # ZY23N which lived at Shoalhaven Ski Park for a few years & then disappeared from sight.....then built 3 x more new ones from Harry in various layouts, some with blue bottoms & the last a bucket seat version....all powered by Holden 308`s...would love to see anyone of them again.
ReplyDeleteI should add that the photo of "KAREN LYNNE" shown above was the first of the new ones bought from Harry Hammond as a stage 2 unit then fitted out by me with some specific help from Linton Gray....so some history.
