"BLOWN SILLY" .......aka "STIRRER"
A family heirloom, this wild Whiteley hot rod packing a blown rat is cherished by bro's Mick & Chris. Dad's old girl "STIRRER" was dragged out from under the house after a 15+ year lay off before the fellas performed this stink'n hot rebuild. Unfortunately the original finish could not be retained due to sunlight turning her starboard side pink so the "BLOWN SILLY" guise complete with airbrushing and metal mountain was the order of the day. Traditionalist's need not lose sleep as the fellas plan on returning her to original appearance down the track, it's just that she's still lookin' way too good to repaint.
Bet she's a hairy ride! Best just give 'em a wave out on Lake Moogerah 'cause you wont catch her ;)
this thing has CLEAVAGE!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat woodie , would be good to see it back to the red / black timber clear trim
ReplyDelete^^^I'm positive she is glass. The trailing edge of planks around transom does fool most. Timber dash, coaming, etc. ....super COOL boat!
Deletehey guys great boat does anyone have any photos or history on it
ReplyDeleteI believe it was raced and shown in the early 70,s
I'm still digging for something. So far can only find pics here of a Goldsborough hull also named "STIRRER" (will send), still hopefull I'll come up with something :)
DeleteHi I have just bought one ( a barn find ) in green with all her original gear timber dash, baileys V drive cant wait to bring her back to life
DeleteHey, I have the Goldsborough originally called Stirrer, I'm part way through doing a full reno. I'd love to get hold of any photos l.
