"SUPA TORQUE" ...GT's ALBUM

He's done it again! Hinted a while back that Grant was busy with yet another Aussie legend ...get a load of this monster!! Amazing effort champ ......Here's the lowdown:

" -Owned, built, and refined by John Millhouse in the mid 70's sporting a high rpm Dart headed 302 Chev with twin 660 centre squirts. 8% Haines & Hellyer box tucked right up under the deck for a reduced shaft angle along with lots of other hand crafted and cross drilled components that well proceeded their time.
- John won many races with the boat once he got it handling correctly before selling it to the late John Dawson who added his own unique touch to the boat with some stripes on the side, a different scoop, re-writing the name and painting the top of the boat with the QLD flag etc. as you see it today.
-Mr. Dawson also won many races with this boat and always presented her in pristine detail as done with everything he owned.
- I purchased the boat from Paul Beaton who also successfully campaigned the boat as "APEX FLOORS" and "SCI FLEET" before retiring the boat under his house in 1988 according to the rego label allowing mechanic and close friend, Randall Haswell, to campaign the engine in a race car (I was very fortunate to purchase this also as a bonus!)
- When I saw it advertised I could not allow the chance of it falling into the wrong hands who might molester such an old survivor with rich racing history and golden memories.
- I hope others might enjoy seeing it too, and if they have any stories etc. please share.
Regards
Grant "

GT's Album; A BLAST FROM THE PAST

Stephens V, Ramsay Puma, & Haines SO.

2x Stephens V's, not sure ...maybe a Spectra?, and a wicked transporter

A bit going on in this cool pic, any guesses on the purple jigga ???

Sad to report that GT has parted ways with his beloved "RECOVERY". Good news is she's in the hands of a loving previous owner. Best news of all is that GT has obtained yet another absolute legend of a boat, stay tuned ;)

GT's album; "MAC-ATAC" and "The DEALER"

The mighty "RECOVERY" is not the only distinguished boat in this ski mad family. Grant's old man owns "The DEALER" and bro does his thing with "MAC-ATAC", three very special ladies with illustrious careers. I'm sure old school ski race fans will recognize these cracker Bullet's instantly. Check out the YouTube post below to see these two screaming WFO throughout the clip. Above pics taken in the back yard ...lucky buggers!

GT's album; "RECOVERY"

In the presence of greatness !!! We hinted back in November that Grant had got himself hold of a slice of Aussie boating history and here's the result of his hard work and determination since then in all her glory.
"RECOVERY",outright winner of the 1987 Southern 80 (among'st numerous other victories) in which her creator, Ted Hurley and crew, covered the distance in an astonishing 37.15.32 ...not too shabby even by today's standards! Some of you may also recall her starring in the Lake Boga clip (above) that we posted a while back. Believed to be one of only two 20ft V hull's produced by legendary Bert Everingham before the mould's were sold on (the other is "OUT OF CONTROL", also seen in clip). For a short time her name was once changed to "REFLECTIONS of recovery" when a second "RECOVERY" was built by Ted and joined the team but she would always be known as 'the' "RECOVERY" and her identity was soon returned.
Grant has her well and truly back in form and is now itch'n to get her back out there racing :) .... cheers mate.
