SWEET SABRE

This has got to be the wildest Merlin Sabre you have ever seen, geez it looks frighteningly  fast....Rob;"Had the Merlin about two and a half years now ,when I got it she was a bit average but saw a great little ski boat in the making .
Since I have had it shes been Re plumed,re glassed ,re painted,re upholstered,re wired,.....changed vdrive position ,changed cav gear, changed motor components ,changed prop shaft ,changed drive shaft, changed rudder and style , and a bit more ...

And yeah its running sweet as now and has had a ripper summer season of nearly every weekend out up the river towing skis knee boards and biscuits .

As for running gear its a 289 ford with 302 heads ,600 holly with summit block hugger headers and stainless cannons to bling it off ,the gearbox is a straight drive argo with 10 percent overdrive and a 3 blade prop.  It runs one finn half way under the hull but have heard of merlins running 3 finns ? I have just made a new rudder and man what a change for the better , The two trim tabs are a bit sketchy to there use and the cav plate I have made up to what I thought would work ,all with adjustable turn buckles .

Have built the boat mostly for skiing as my self ,wife and friends are into it and the kids are learning .Shes a bit small but you learn to pack light ,oh it weighs about 750 kg .Mostly have it in the fresh water down here in Tas as there are a few good rivers not far away ."...Awesome rig Rob,you've done a ripper job with her champ.Them Tassie waters do like nice.
