"MEAN MACHINE" ............completed

Wow! I'm sure most of you would recall "MEAN MACHINE" posted back in August last year. I'm lost for words so Jas fills us in .....

"Two years of sweat, we had our big launch day at Somerset Dam QLD on the 10th of May. Put two hours on her in the first day ...ran like a dream.
"MeanMachine" is a 1976 Seacraft TS, Holden 186s. Australian red cedar on the deck all coated in International Perfection Plus duco. Mean Machine is the original name of the boat, left in place to ensure we keep her history.
I was lucky enough to track down Tom Skelly. Tom was the gentlemen that this model was named after, he became the world champion barefoot skier in 1975 and joined us for the day to launch the boat"

A very impressive job you've performed on her J and crew, congratulations...Geez, quite an interesting guest of honor you had there for the re-launch. Thanks for sharing.

Thought that posting these pics might inspire some winter projects. I definitely don't recommend chopping up old favorites but most of us have a few dodgy ones up in the rafters and their always found on hard rubbish days. Could be just the thing for the van/shack/shed ... Aussie version of the chair would have strategically placed binding for drink holder surely ;) or how about a cool light board for the trailer.

the POTTS FAMILY album; 'JV3N' ........pt1

Thank heavens this old rose has found herself among'st the ski mad Potts Family whom along with the help of a gang of several old boat builders residing in the Port Lincoln area plan to give the sweetheart a new lease on life. The project began with a long journey to pick her up from north eastern NSW where it is believed she once thumped about with Dodge Phoenix motivation ....Cant wait to see the end result!
As with all older craft seen here at ASB, if anyone ever recognizes her and can share some history, we're all ears.
Cheers Mal, she's a ripper! ....oh, and it doesn't end here, the Potts' are on the lookout for the next chapter, perhaps a glass Everingham, Lewis, or Stephens in need of a lotta love.

***Don't forget to check out the rest of the Potts Family album, hit label below.
