"KAPALA" .......better than ever!





Did your jaw drop a little as these pics loaded on to the screen ?? Filam Ski Sport "KAPALA"  is back on the water and looking more stunning than ever thanks to the tastes and efforts of proud owners Ben & Nadia.
Ben casually reports that he has just reconditioned the 328 Chrysler with a mild cam and treated her to a retrim, but obviously he's done a fair bit more than that.... Amongst the sweetest I've ever seen. Check out the "KAPALA" pics we featured last year >> kapala-aussieskiboats.blogspot-kapala

      I haven't been able to work that out yet and not sure we ever will, sadly Keith & Doug are no longer with us. I've since added our Filam Boats FB link to this post which gives a great account of the company and models produced (pretty sure the link will work if your not a fb page member). Funnily enough boats were only a small part of Filam's operation's.
      Can't even give a ballpark figure on numbers but there is bloody heaps out there. As with a lot of older ski boats, most owners aren't sure what they have. Sold by Filam themselves locally, throughout Australia from Franklin Caravan dealerships, and fitted out and sold by dozens and dozens of independents, I truly believe they where Australia's most universal boat for their time ...no one has really noticed them though. Hundreds & Hundreds of them.
      Excuse the rant ...reckon I could be Filam's biggest fan :)

      **pronounced; FI - LAM as in fibreglass laminates ,have heard 'phill-em' more than once,lol.

      Thanks,lucky they did'nt throw it away.it was the first thing i put back on.
      i think the Filam if not one off the coolest ski/speed boats.a bit like a muscle car but on water......muscle boat yeh!
